Is coffee bad for health?

There is no food or drink that is bad if you take in moderation and the same applies to coffee. In fact, there is clinical evidence to show that drinking one or two cups of coffee is not harmful to health. Reports seems to suggest that coffee contains antioxidants which can help reduce the risk of diabetes, Parkinson disease, gallstones, hemorrhoids, acne and so on. All this medical stuff about coffee is just nonsense. As far as weight loss is concerned, coffee does no such thing unless you only drink coffee and do not at any solid food. If you like coffee, drinking one or two cups a day is not harmful. The only advice I have is avoid 4-6 teaspoons of sugar and flavored syrup- this just add more calories. I love my coffee with cream and sugar. Try it. Also, you may ask yourself that is there any anti aging health benefit to drinLinkking coffee?

Anti-Aging Skin Care Oils

I’ve just bought an anti-aging skin care oil to try out, always in the never-ending search of skin rejuvenation products that are antiaging and natural. It’s a natural essential oil from the Tamanu tree (Calophyllum tacamahaca) which grows on the island of Tahiti.

Among other things, this oil promises skin rejuvation – antiaging, scar removal, moisturizing and correct dry red scaly skin problems and has powerful antioxidant properties. Anti-oxidants in this oil help prevent oxidative skin damage, something we all want.

This 100% cold pressed Tamanu nut oil smells of a delightful, nutty fragrance which brings me to another point, you should not use this if you are allergic to nuts. However, if you are not allergic to nuts, you smooth on the oil all over your body after a bath or washing your face. It can be used directly on the skin. I bought and tested the Tamanu Nut Oil bottled by Hedd Wyn Essentials and it comes in a little bottle with a roll-on applicator – very good for target problem areas such as age spots and wrinkles under the delicate eye area. The shelf life of this essential oil is ten to 14 months, but shelf life will be reduced if it is store in a hot climate and not kept cool.

Tamanu Nut Oil is a natural antiaging oil, good for your skin and good for your body and helps prevent the signs of aging we don’t want. It especially works well on fine wrinkles and age spots and I’m applying it directly to those nasty brown age spots on my arms and hands a couple of times a day.

Nanoblur Review

I promised a while back that I would write a review on the antiaging skin care product Nanoblur which promises to make you look “ten years younger.” Well, the time has come and I started using it about two weeks ago and can now publish my findings. I started using it because my friend who's using Nanoblur as well told me she was using it and I had to get it.

So I decided to start using Nanoblur, try it out and write this review. I noted that my friend's face looked softer and still natural so I tried it out the next day.

Nanoblur is a cream that you apply after you have put on your moisturizing cream. It's got a nice light texture. It is supposed to correct the things we want to get rid of as we age, such as fine lines, wrinkles, crow's feet and enlarged pores. It also promises to make you look 10 years younger.

Here are my findings: overall, it gives your skin a softer glow. That I can vouch for viewing my friend's face and my own. It may get rid of some of my fine lines and some of my wrinkles. It helped with the large pore situation. I don't have crow's feet yet so I can't judge that aspect of Nanoblur.

My biggest disappointment is that, no, it doesn't make me look 10 years younger by any stretch of the imagination. It doesn't make my best girlfriend look 10 years younger. Really, that promise is sort of stretching the truth. Should you buy this product? Yes, I'll keep using it because I must admit, it does add a kind of softness to the skin and I like that in Nanoblur. If you want to obtain that softness, try Nanoblur and you will see that it does, at least, give you this... Add this product to your anti-aging arsenal.Link

Suzanne Somers Interviewed About Ageism in Hollywood

Suzanne Somers was interviewed on TV on The Insider show about ageism in Hollywood and her views on celebrity infidelity. Although some stars in Hollywood such as Jane Fonda, Sharon Stone, Juliette Binoche and Julian Moore do find good roles, generally, there are not a lot of interesting roles for female actors in Hollywood. It seems that once an actress hits 30 - 35 years of age, the good acting roles dry up. Male actors find acting roles, no matter what their age. They are often paired up in relationships with female stars almost half their age or less.

Hollywood stars have to undergo botox, plastic and cosmetic surgery and starve themselves just to remain "young looking" as the roles become less available.

Not only does ageism exist in Hollywood, ageism is very present in the workforce. It is more difficult for older women to find work in the workforce. Ageism, like any other prejudice pre-judges a human being.

What can you do to fight ageism? If you are in a position to hire, don't hire a person just based on their looks or youth. Hire the best person for the role and let their qualifications and experience guide your hiring decision. If you are in Hollywood, hire actors in the appropriate age group to play opposite the male star.

The ironic news about ageism in the workforce is that with declining population levels, corporations will have to rely on and hire older workers who want to work because there will be too many people collecting pensions and not enough young workers to support the pension system.

Looking your best as you grow older can be helped by using good antiaging creams, eat a healthy diet, exercise to keep yourself in the best shape. Get a great haircut and don't dress in old fuddy clothes. Dress professionally for the workplace, not trying to be a 22 year old, but wear classy, nice styled clothes. If you need it, see your cosmetic surgery doctor for some collagen injections, but don't overdo it. The final advice is, get rid of your stress and keep a happy and optimistic mood. Let your happiness spread around.

Slowly, attitudes will change in the workplace and hopefully Hollywood will make movies that reflect real life more closely. I mean, how often do you see a 67 year old man who's all saggy and baggy, married or falling in love with a 22 year old hot thing? It doesn't happen very often unless the old man has stacks of cash.

Red Wine- Is this the Fountain of Youth?

While everyone has been searching for an anti aging pill or developing a formulation of a cosmetic cream, Lo and Behold, one of the most potent anti aging chemicals has been found in one of men’s favorite beverage. Researchers believe that they may have found the fountain of youth in red wine. For decades it was not understood why individuals who drank red wine regularly showed very beautiful and youthful looking skin. At first, everyone thought that this was simply genes, or perhaps the food or the French Riviera or perhaps the French were simply lucky. Little did anyone suspect that it was the red wine.

A few years ago the ingredients in red wine were analyzed and found to contain a substance called Resveratrol. This agent has been extensively studied in the laboratory and found to be a natural anti oxidant. Other studies have shown that many life forms studied in the laboratory were prolonged when minute amounts of Resveratrol was added as a nutrient.

Resveratrol is commonly found in the skin of red grapes and functions as an anti fungal agent in the vineyards. During the fermentation process, the Resveratrol is preserved and remains functional.

How Resveratrol functions as an antiaging agent is not fully understood but there is strong belief that it limits the calorie intake. It is known that individuals who eat less, usually live long. With Resveratrol life extension has been seen in rodents, monkeys and other primates. When the calorie intake is lessened, the blood sugar and cholesterol levels decline, the blood pressure drops and there is excess mobilization of the fat deposits. And this scenario is evident in the French.

When it comes to humans, the French who drink red wine predominantly live a lot longer than most people around the world. These individuals also have much lesser cardiac disease than their American counterparts. And when the skin of these French individuals is examined, there is very little evidence of aging and wrinkles are non existent.

So should we all drink red wine?

Yes, but even among red wines the concentration of Resveratrol varies. Wines from Canada generally contain more of this ingredient than those bought from California. The reason is thought to be the increased moisture and humidity in the north. The increased humidity allows the fungus to thrive and thus grapes produce more Resveratrol to kill the fungus.

How much red wine to drink to produce healthy aging is not really known. Currently some experts recommend drinking one glass of wine on a daily basis.

So the next time you lift your Pinot Noir to a toast, remember, besides friendship and a good dinner, you are also gaining your youth with a glass of red wine.

Artecoll

A Better Anti-Aging Cosmetic Filler

Looking for a cosmetic surgery which takes the years off your face? I will share with you this great anti-aging tip – a process I am definitely a fan of. Another anti-aging cosmetic filler like Botox is a product called Artecoll, made by Canderm Pharma Inc. One of the benefits of Artecoll is that it is a much longer lasting filler than either Botox or Restylane. Since the 1930s, it has been used for eye lenses, dental work and bone repair, so it has a known safety factor for quite some time now.

As an anti-aging treatment, it is used to add volume and structure to your skin as it ages. It is used by clinicians as a solution for acne scars, frowns, laugh lines (nasal labial folds) and thin lips. It is quite successful in building up lost volume in the face.

This bio-compatible solution is made of collagen and microscopic PMMA beads and added lidocaine to help with the pain of the injection site. By stimulating natural collagen production, it “binds” with the collagen building volume and structure to your face where required, this whole process takes from two to three months to be activated. Occasionally a patient will require two or three applications to get the results you are looking for as an anti-aging treatment.

How long will this antiaging procedure last? Artecoll will last for 10 or more years. To get Artecoll, you must have an experienced doctor inject Artecoll. One in a thousand people can be allergic to Artecoll so if you are worried, you can have a sensitivity test performed on your skin. If Artecoll proves to be the option for you, then you may experience some redness, swelling, bumps, bruising and itchiness which you can deal with by using cold compresses and acetaminophen, These side effects will disappear in a few day. Another bonus besides getting lost volume replaced in your face is that there is no downtime with Artecoll. If you want you can have this done on your lunch hour and return to work that afternoon. However, I would recommend having it done on a Friday and if there is any redness of bruising, you have the weekend in front of you so the redness or bruising will subside.

Consult with your antiaging doctor to find out if Artecoll is the solution for you. As a booster to collagen production in your skin and an excellent way of giving back lost volume to your face, even though it is slightly higher in price than Botox, I highly recommend Artecoll injections.

Microdermabrasion

One of the best anti-aging procedures you can get for assisting your skin against the effects of time including wrinkles, blemishes, shallow scarring, and discoloration and used with great success is microdermabrasion. This non-invasive cosmetic procedure is best done in a salon though you can purchase at at-home kit manufactured by Neutrogena. You can also purchase any number of microdermabrasion formula but neither of these are as effective as a treatment done by a salon because of the tool that is used in a salon. You can try these at-home procedures or formulas but if you then try a salon treatment, you will see and feel the effectiveness and the difference when the procedure is done by an anti-aging esthetician. What I will discuss here is the very successful salon procedure microdermabrasion.

The esthetician in a salon uses special equipment for the process. It will feel like a very strong, small vacume which distributes the crystal formula that performs an abrasive rotating action against the skin and then powerfully “vacumes” up the used crystals and old dead skin cells. These crystals used can be such ingredients like sodium chloride, aluminum oxide or bicarbonate.

How does this all work? How much does microdermabrasion cost? Well, it can be compared to an inexpensive “facelift” with immediate results. Microdermabrasion works on the top layer of the skin called, the stratum corneum where the blemishes , wrinkes and fine lines are formed. Unlike Botox or Restylane or Artecoll or any other variety of cosmetic fillers, It is not an invasive process Microdermabrasion is not a cosmetic filler to replace loss of volume in aging skin. What does it cost? You can get this procedure from anywhere between $50 - $175 a session. Some salons offer package deals. The esthetican will determine how many treatments you will need to get the results you are looking for...

Why is microdermabrasion so successful? The tool and formula and strength used by the esthetician will actually breakdown the upper layer – the stratum corneum. This is interpreted by the body as an injury and reacts with crythema and mild edema (swelling). This can last for a duration of an hour for up to two days What the body is actually doing is now creating new skin cells and a smoother surface.

Microdermabrasion is able, by this process to repair fine lines and wrinkles, repair sun damage skin and blemishes. The anti aging moisturizing creams used after the treatment can then access the deeper layers of your skin . With repeated treatments and over a period of time, it can also fix minor acne scarring. The microdermabrasion procedure creates new healthy skin cells which is why as an anti-aging procedure it is so successful.

You can use microdermabrasion for any of the following problems dull aging skin, sun damaged skin, brown age spots, superficial acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone and melasma (hyper-pigmentation).

However, microdermabrasion is not a good idea if you have any of the following skin conditions on your face: Erythematosis, Psoriasis, Active rosacea, Diabetes mellitus, Herpes, Dermatitis, Lupus, Vascular lesions, broken capillaries, open sores, warts, Eczema, severe acne, skin lesions or if you are taking anti-coagulants.

Microdermabrasion is one of the best antiaging procedures for the cost of value of the treatment. You will see the results and your skin, though it may be red for a short time after the treatment, will feel brand new, fresh and super clean. Follow your esthetician’s recommendation for follow up treatments to get the results you are looking for.

Meditation – Best for Anti Aging

maditationantiagingIn this day in age with all the stress our busy lives can get us, more and more people are looking for forms of relaxation. Meditation is a poplar method to relax. Not only does it help relax you on the inside, but it also helps take care of you on the outside.

Stress plays a huge factor in your aging. When you have too much stress in your life, your brain becomes over worked and sends a message to release harmful hormones into your system. These hormones can be linked to many problems such as high blood presser, heart disease and your immune system can become very weak. When your immune system becomes weak its very hard to handle a cold, and even a change in temperature.

Meditation is a great way to help defeat stress. When you start to take care of all your stress that’s on the inside, the outside feels and looks great too. When you meditate, you’re putting your heart through a deep rest. This decreases your heart rate and helps lower your blood presser. When you lower for blood presser you are giving your skin a chance to develop the ability to be more resistant.

Also when you meditate your training your body how to handle stressful situations. You can become more stable in your emotions and train your mind to function more properly. You can also achieve a higher self-confidence and to discover your inner self.

When you mind and soul is balanced and relax, your body with follow suit. It always comes full circle so that when you learn to relax and handle your stress in life by using meditation, you are giving your body a time to relax and age more slowly, and also decreasing your odds of certain harmful diseases.

So not only is antiaging meditation good for your mind, it’s also very helpful for your body and antiaging.

Anti-Aging Foot Care

Luck is with you, there are many antiaging products including natural organic solutions on the market to help you take care of your feet. Your feet need, at this time in life, extra anti-aging foot care and pampering to stay looking great as you get older.

You will have to make a regular habit of getting a pedicure. It’s worth paying the extra money for a really good pedicure where they will completely take care of your feet. Try to find a salon which uses mostly allnatural products, rich moisturizing creams and follows strict rules for cleanliness. Some salons are now using nail polishes which don’t contain any of the harmful chemical ingredients which can irritate the skin and have been proven to causebirth defects in animals. These harmful ingredients include:

  • Toluene
  • Formaldehyde
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)

Just before you hop into bed at night, smother your feet with a foot cream such as Burt’s Bees’ Coconut Oil Foot Crème or a highly moisturizing foot or body butter and massage it into your tired feet. Place a pair of cotton socks on your feet so the butter does not get on your bedsheets. This will keep your feet softer and looking younger.. I suggest you try the Burt’s Bees onut Oil Foot Crème because it’s anexcellent choice for anti-aging foot care, softens tough skin, moisturizes, smells great and is 98.6% natural ingredients.making it a wise organic choice.

We also like Bio-Sana’s waterproof foot buffer /callus remover / to keep in the shower. Use it a few times a week will keep the soles of your feet smooth and soft between visits to the salon for a pedicure. This has to be the best rough skin and callus remover on the market for anti-aging foot care.
